FAQs

Plans & Pricing

What does the commission fee cover?

The commission fee covers transaction processing, platform maintenance, and hosting. It ensures saïd + art stays secure, user-friendly, and supportive of your growth.

Can I switch plans?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time to suit your needs. If you're planning of switching hosting for your website, I recommend you give me a 45-day notice to help you transition out and minimize your website's down time as your new hosting provider makes the nameserver changes and you replace my agency APIs with your own plugin (~$1200+ annually) licenses.

Is there a long-term commitment?

No, you’re never locked into a long-term commitment. Plans are billed monthly, and you can cancel anytime.

If you're insistent on paying for the year, you can reach out and I'll work out a deal with you.

Payment & Fees

How do I get paid?

Payments are processed through Stripe. You’ll receive an email notification to review and fulfill each order, and your earnings will be deposited into your bank account within up to 14 business days after delivery confirmation.

How are commission fees calculated?

I value equity over perceived equality, so a flat rate doesn't align with this belief.

The model is at the core of what makes saïd + art so essential for emerging artists to market and sell their work, without paying higher fees early in their careers while more established artists can offer new collectors 'entry-level' art prices to introduce their work before positioning their higher-value collections:

  • 20% for art under $1K,
  • 25% for art under $5K,
  • 30% for art over $5K.

Can I offer discounts?

The quick answer is yes. You can create coupons and discounts to incentivize sales and attract art collectors; remember that fine art is still a luxury item and discounts should be rare and positioned in a way that doesn't devalue the perception of your work.

Commission rates apply after the discount so that both the artist and platform share it.

Example: An art piece priced at $1500 has a projected commission rate of 25%, but if the post discount price falls under $1K, the final commission rate will be 20% from the sale price point.

Do I need to handle taxes?

Yes, you’re responsible for handling your own taxes. Stripe will provide 1099-K tax reports to help you file.

Are there transaction fees?

No, the commission fee is all-inclusive. There are no hidden transaction fees.

What payment methods are accepted?

saïd + art accepts all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX) through Stripe.

Storefront & Listings

How do I list my art?

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll have access to your own shop dashboard where you can upload up to 20 to 1000 pieces of art (or more, depending on your plan).

Is the storefront easy to use?

Yes! The interface is intuitive, and I provide tutorials to guide you through setting up and optimizing your storefront.

How do I know which art to list?

Focus on your best and most cohesive work. The product limits are designed to help you curate a thoughtful collection that resonates with buyers and to prevent spamming the platform or having anyone dominate it.

Can I customize my storefront?

Customization is limited due to the nature of the platform. The focus is on your art and to make online sales as frictionless as possible. You can add content to position your brand within the market, but not visual customizations.

What happens if I reach my product limit?

If you’re on a higher plan and hit your product limit, you can expand your listings by upgrading to the next tier. The final tier includes an optional website with WooCommerce and you can upload your entire body of work and encourage your returning art patrons to buy directly from you to avoid even my platform fees.

How does saïd + art help me grow beyond the platform?

saïd + art is designed to help you gain independence. My free courses teach you how to sell and market your art, so you can grow your own audience and thrive beyond the platform.

The $99/month is excellent for artists whose work is starting to sell with more consistency and it has the lowest platform fees; plus, the WooCommerce store is where you want to take your recurring patrons for unlimited art piece uploads to avoid further commission charges when they buy directly.

Support & Customer Service

What support options are available?

  • Phase 1 members get access to the private Discord community.
  • Phase 2 includes email support.
  • Phase 3 includes video support.
  • Phase 4 includes phone support & quarterly check-ins.

How do I connect with support?

You can message support directly from your dashboard to get a responce within 2 business days, max.

What happens if there’s a dispute with a buyer?

If you and a buyer can’t resolve an issue, I’ll step in as a mediator to ensure a fair and quick resolution. If you still disagree with the decision, I encourage you to escalate with Stripe.

Can I get a refund?

The forever free Phase 1 planned is designed for you to test the platform risk-free. Phase 2 & 3 have feature extensions of what the Phase 1 already offers, so no, there are no refunds.

Phase 4 offers a 30-day money back guarantee to test your WooCommerce store if you decided to included it in your available features.

Why is the Woo store optional for Phase 4 members?

Different artists have different approaches to marketing their work. Some want to take advantage of the lowest possible platform fees and increase their product limits. Others are more interested in the value that premium courses offer to guide them to better sell their art.

And the last bloc might simply have a website they're happy with and don't really need the Woo option.

The motivation behind how I propose features is equity. It's there for those who feel they need it.
